NSW Telco Authority- Ranger 8000, 8kVA ‘Telco Spec’
Eniquest was tasked by tender to provide a solution for critical operational telecommunications units and site power to essential services in NSW. NSW Telco provides a communications network that allows emergency services to communicate to each other, share information during emergencies such as floods and bushfires, and provide site power to SES, Fire & Police services when a response station is set up.
There are two types of generators that we have provided, the main generator being a custom solution to our Ranger 8000. The Ranger 8000 is fitted onto a purpose-built skid and then is placed on the backs of custom-built trailers and 4×4 trucks that are designed specifically for remote communications. Should a generator be used for site power, its then lifted off with an onboard crane.
The Ranger was the best option as its lightweight, compact and extremely quiet. Due to the nature of the sensitive equipment being used, the Ranger 8000’s near perfect sine wave output from the alternator was also a big tick.
This generator has some of the most custom features we offer of any commercial generator.
– Deep Sea Controller with remote monitoring.
– Ability to run off both onboard fuel, or an auxiliary fuel source at the flick of a switch.
– Multiple styles of power outlets
– Galvanised base frame
– Engine oil make-up system to alleviate daily checking of oil level with low level alarm.
– Dual 4G Communication antennas built in.
– On-board battery charging directly plugged into mains power.
– Ability to withstand the harshest environments and extreme heat.
We have delivered close to 40 generators in the last 2 years to NSW telco alone with the project ongoing.

Ergon Energy- Ranger 10kVA & Stockman 36kVA ‘Ergon Spec’
We were tasked to provide a backup power solution for emergency communication towers across Queensland, in particular with the northern region. Originally a tendered process, we now deal directly with Energy Australia providing power to multiple sites. The generators provided are a custom solution across different models, dating back since 2015.
The conditions these generators were subjected to are quite harsh and need to work in high moisture environments and withstand cyclones. In some cases, these generators are helicopter lifted into place atop mountain sites. The reliability of the generators is critical as they are powering communication towers for the 000 services, police, ambulance, fire and state emergency services.
Features of the generators included galvanised base frames due to the high moisture nature of where these were being mounted, along with stainless steel fasteners, aluminium panels, and a specific colour to blend in with the surroundings. These generators also have the ability to be remote monitored.
We also provided long use fuel tank manufactured from aluminium so that it can be lightweight for helicopter lifting. We provide both AC and DC generators and have delivered close to 70 generators since in working with Ergon.
